7 September marks World Duchenne Awareness Day (WDAD), a disease in which we as a company are particularly involved.

Duchenne and Becker muscular dystrophies (DMD/BMD) are rare genetic diseases that cause progressive muscle degeneration. They are caused by a mutation on the X chromosome, which is why mainly males are affected, and every year, 1 in 5,000 children are born with DMD worldwide.

The aim of this day is precisely to make people more aware.

This year's theme, "Raise your voice for Duchenne", emphasizes the importance of amplifying voices to advocate for the rights, inclusion, and well-being of people affected by Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) and other dystrophin-related dystrophies.

On September 7th, everyone is encouraged to break the silence so that Duchenne receives the attention it deserves. Our voices can make a difference, empowering those living with this rare disease and their families. Together, we have shown that we can contribute to building a society where the rights and well-being of people with Duchenne are at the forefront.
